The cost is £18 with a £3 discount if you are a BTF member and/or a £2 reduction if you are a member of South London Swimming Club.
On the day of the race registration will open at 7.15pm and close promptly at 7.50pm for the pre-race briefing. The first wave will start at 8.00pm.
The race will be 11 lengths (1Km) followed by a ~7.2km (Strava'd by Jonathan C & Craig T) run around Tooting Bec Common (3 laps of a marked circuit). A maximum of 100 people can take part – we typically have 2 waves. We run the event under BTF rules - no headphones for any part of the race, wetsuits are optional (most people wear one).
The Race Directors will decide overall series winners at the end of the 4th race. To be considered you must have participated in at least 3 out of the 4 events in your age category. The best part is the winner will get a "beautiful" mug.
Certificates are awarded to male and female first, second and third place in each age category for each race. If you would like a personal certificate with your time on we will be happy to make electronic copies for you to print at your convenience.
Age ranges are:
16-39, 40-49 (veteran) and 50+ (super-veteran)
As with all SLSC events we are always in need of volunteers to help us make our events safe and fun. Being an SLSC volunteer is a great way to meet new people, put names to faces at the Lido and generally have a good time. If you can spare an hour or two on race days please do come and help our Aquathlon Team with time-keeping and marshalling the run route.
If you are interested in Open Water training sessions at the lido, check out our webpage. We are keen to attract new members to SLSC and are trialing these sessions to SLSC members this Summer.
