How do I pay?
Payment will be taken online using an international secure online payment mechanism.
Can I enter and swim on the day?
No. The closing date for entries is 31 December 2007. There will be no late entries. (Polar bears, penguins and seals may be able to enter on the day only if places are still available)
Do I have to compete, or can I just go for a swim?
We will have a "dipping" lane, for those of you who just want to experience a swim or dip in cold water, without having to race. You will need to enter and pay an entrance fee. Dippers will be categorised as penguins, seals or polar bears, depending on whether you want to dip, swim 30 metres or 60 metres, respectively.
Where can I stay
Please see the accommodation link for further details.
Will there be anything to eat / drink?
Because of the nature of the event, alcohol will not be permitted on the premises. However, stalls selling hot food and drinks will be available.
Can friends and family come and watch?
We want as many people as possible to come and experience our fantastic lido. There will be an entry fee of £2 for spectators.

We expect about 850 swimmers, including "dippers", and lots of spectators.
Where can I park?
There is very limited parking at the lido car-park itself . There is some parking in the surrounding area, although competitors and their guests must ensure they are not in a parking restricted area, as they may either be fined or clamped. Where possible, we encourage competitors and spectators to take public transport to the lido - the area is well-served by overland train, underground trains and buses (please see the venue page for further details).
Can I take my dog to the pool?
Dogs (and other animals) are not permitted in the lido (save for guide dogs, penguins, seals and polar bears).
Will there be heated areas?
Hot showers will be available and arrangements will be made to heat the changing rooms as much as possible. There are no indoor spaces at the Lido but there will be a marquee with some heating
What should I bring with me?
In addition to your swimming costume, please ensure that you bring a layer of warm clothing (including hat, gloves and something warm to put on your feet) that you can get into and out of easily).
Can I wear a wet-suit?
No, only a standard swim costume is allowed. Swimsuits may not go beyond the middle of the thigh or past the shoulder (i.e. they may not have legs or sleeves) and shall have no thermal protection or buoyancy.
However, for the head-up breast stroke races, competitors are encouraged to wear a silly hat. The dafter and more imaginative, the better!
