SATURDAY

Winter Championship Races

Winter Championship races are 25 metres head up breaststroke. They are categorised by age and gender as follows:

A series: 10 – 19 years (those born 1989 – 1998)
B series: 20 – 29 years (those born 1988 – 1979)
C series: 30 – 39 years (those born 1978 – 1969)
D series: 40 – 49 years (those born 1968 – 1959)
E series: 50 – 59 years (those born 1958 – 1949)
F series: 60 – 69 years (those born 1948 – 1939)
G series:70 – 79 years (those born 1938 – 1929)
H series: 80 years and over (those born in 1928 or before)

Entry fee £25 (SLSC members £22), no late entries

Non Competitive Swims

Non competitive swims are categorised by distance as follows:

Polar Bears - 60 metre swim, no timing
Seals - 30 metre swim, no timing
Penguins - A dip in the pool

Entry fee £15 (SLSC members £12)
Registration on the day £18 (SLSC members £15) if places are available.

SUNDAY

Sunday's Races are only open to swimmers who have entered the Winter Championships on Saturday, including Penguins, Seals and Polar Bears.

60m Freestyle Fun Races

Categorised by age and gender. Limited entry.

Entry fee £15 (SLSC members £12), no late entries.

International Relay Races

Teams of 4 compete for their country, town or club in 4 x 30m freestyle races. The captain of each team only to enter. Team members’ names to be provided at registration. Limited entry.

Entry fee £60 per team, no late entries.

Endurance Swims

Entry by invitation. To apply please send us a request to take part stating your cold water swimming experience which must be confirmed by your swimming coach or official from your swimming organisation.

Water Performance Competition

The water performance competition consists of teams of between 3 and 20 people who put on a performance lasting between 2 and 5 minutes. At least 3 members of the team must enter the water during the performance. You can have crazy costumes, hilarious hats, a storyline and music (see rules for swimmers for further details). A prize of £600 will be awarded to the winning team.

Entry fee £70 per team (3-20 persons), no late entries.

Winter Championship entry fee includes the programme, insurance and a Championship Participation Medal. Championship Medals will be awarded for the three top places in each category.
