Events for SLSC members

There’s a cup for each Sunday and one for all seasons. We started holding our Sunday morning races at Tooting Bec Lido in 1908. The practice continues to this day, with the Right Honourable Handicapper taking charge, whose dream is that one day we will all touch together. Just being there, we do that anyway.

The Sunday morning races are central to the Club’s sporting and social life, it’s good fun and a great way to catch up with friends and fellow devotees of the Lido, with homemade cakes and coffee in the winter (the café is open in the summer).

The Club holds many other club events including Christmas and New Year races, fun galas against other clubs, a Summer Social, water polo, swim training sessions and much more! Club events that are coming up are listed below or posted on the Club notice board at Tooting Bec Lido.

Welcome coffee morning

We hold two or three welcome to new members tea and coffee mornings a year. The next one is at 10.00-11.00am on Saturday 23 March 2024

Do come along to the Tooting Bec Lido Pavilion and learn more about the Club and the Lido, and find out how you can get involved.

Fellow cold water enthusiasts and long-standing winter swimmers will be there to share ideas and best practice for safe winter swimming to help you enjoy the cold water pool safely.

Sign up for the new Lido Choir

After the performance of Call of The Water at the Lido’s reopening celebration, many of you were interested in the idea of choral singing becoming a more regular part of Lido life. So from April, the Fifty Shades of Blue choir will be meeting on Monday evenings (before swim training) in the Lido Pavilion. This will be an inclusive, community-focused group open to all SLSC members. There will be no auditions, no solos, and no need to be able to read music.
