Join our specialist coaching team for these fun swim training sessions focused on open water skills and distance training. Wetsuits are advised, but not compulsory.
Whether you’re looking to find your feet in open water, or have entered your first triathlon or long distance swim event, or perhaps you’re looking to podium at a national championship… Together the team look forward to working with you to improve your confidence and efficiency in the water. They will combine a mixture of technique work, video analysis, and fitness sets to help improve your swimming whatever your goal! Sessions are suitable for anyone aged 18 years or older looking to improve or maintain their swimming fitness level. Swimmers should be able to comfortably swim 1km in a pool.
Thursday evenings in July (4 sessions) 7.45pm - 8.45
£3 per session, turn up and pay on the night. Wetsuits or rash vests are advised to ward off the chill, but not compulsory. Children must be competent swimmer, able to swim a width of the pool comfortably. This is not a learn to swim session. Parental/guardian attendance required.

Krista, a swimmer herself, has over 20 years experience teaching and coaching swimming. Originally from Canada, she fell in love with outdoor and open water swimming after moving to the UK. A swimmer, runner and cyclist, she can also be found coaching stand up paddle boarding when not at her desk as the Business Manager at a North London swim club.
Simon is a full time professional IRONMAN and British Triathlon certified coach with ASA Level 2 and NOWCA recognition. He learned freestyle swimming as an adult, and is now regularly in the top 5% of swimmers out of the water at events. Having led the SLSC Saturday morning Triathlon training programme Simon is looking forward to helping swimmers of all abilities develop their swimming this summer at the Lido.
Ali is a marathon swimmer, STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach and Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher. She is founder the Women’s Swimming Collective and Contributing Editor of Outdoor Swimmer Magazine. Ali came to open water swimming via triathlon; re-learning to swim front crawl as an adult and is passionate about helping everyone enjoy the water.
