All sessions are suitable for anyone aged 18 years or older looking to improve or maintain their swimming fitness level. Swimmers should be able to comfortably swim 1km in a pool.
Come along and get ready for the new season of events, have fun and get fit in and out of the water. Suitable for all levels of fitness - coach Patricia will make sure everyone is challenged!
Dry: 30 minutes, including a warm up and stretching. This class focuses on a series of bodyweight exercises to perform at your own pace for 30-60 seconds. Build your foundation, get fit and toned.
Wet: 30 minutes*.
Concentrating on front crawl technique and efficiency through improving breathing, kicking and stroke mechanics. Wetsuits are strongly recommended given the water temperature at this time of year.
* Length of time spent in the water might be shorter til the water warms up.

Held in 25m pools so space is limited. Pre-booking advised to secure a place. You can also pay poolside, though we would prefer if you book in advance to save time. Your termly pass will grant you priority access to the sessions, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the session to register and guarantee your place in a lane.

Our Summer evening training sessions at Tooting Bec Lido were a great success in 2019. We’ll be back in June 2020. Watch this space!
On Thursdays in July, Coach Charlie will be running open water skills training at Tooting Bec Lido for kids aged 10 - 17 years. SLSC members only - £5 per session or book all four sessions for £12. Wetsuits or rash vests are advised, but not compulsory. Children must be competent swimmers. This is not a learn to swim session. Booking will open in June.
Patricia has been competing in Triathlon events for the past 14 years; during this time she has achieved a number of podium finishes. These events included Ironman, Tough Mudder, Sky Races and the SainteLyon, an ultra distance night run. Since 2014 Patricia has favoured SwimRun which has taken her to Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, the Scilly Isles and Jersey, again achieving podium finishes with her partners, including a first place in Norway. With the wealth of knowledge gained through these races, Patricia took up coaching in 2016. She currently coaches swimming at the RAC on Pall Mall and is now offering her services to the SLSC.
Krista has over 20 years experience teaching and coaching swimming. Originally from Canada, she fell in love with outdoor and open water swimming after moving to the UK. A swimmer, runner and cyclist, she can also be found coaching stand up paddle boarding when not at her desk as the Business Manager at a North London swim club.
Claire has many years of experience coaching in the UK and abroad. She is passionate about outdoor swimming and loves to spread the joy of swimming to others. She likes to compete in any events that include water, especially overseas. She combines her teaching with her work as a nurse.
Ali is a marathon swimmer, STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach and Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher. She is founder the Women’s Swimming Collective. Ali came to open water swimming via triathlon; re-learning to swim front crawl as an adult and is passionate about helping everyone enjoy the water.
